Quick question: how many of you out there have a cell phone? Anyone? Ok, so there is no earthly way that we could possibly know how many of you out there are sitting in your plush comfortable chairs in front of your computers with your hands raised and perhaps now feeling just a tad bit silly about all of this. But we are willing to bet that the vast majority of you people reading this article right now in fact have a cell phone in your possession…perhaps even more than one.
Now admittedly it did not take a lot of deductive powers to figure that out, for the fact of the matter is, cell phones are now-and has been for a number of years in fact-been a common fixture in this day and age. Found in the possession of many people from all walks of life, the cell phone has penetrated the sphere of modern consciousness in a way that its predecessor-the pager-never did. Perhaps it is a sign of our own growing need to remain connected with the people we love or do business with on a day to day basis–or even the evolution of the cell phone as a fashion statement–but the cell phone, like it or not, is an ubiquitous part of the present day cultural landscape and by all indications, it is here to stay.
